Miles run: 27 Countdown to 50: 35 days I had quite a busy week this week and needed to rearrange my runs to ensure I could get them done as I traveled down to VA for my best friend Stef's baby shower. What was planned:

Tuesday: 30 min/ 8x20s strides/ 30 min (6.5 total)

Wednesday: 5 Thursday: 10 Sunday: 6

What got done:

Tuesday: After work, I headed to the Chester Valley trail to complete this run. The weather was warmer than the previous week, but nothing compared to this summer's brutality. My friend Nick was starting his run on the other end of the trail, so I told him to find me, and we'd run together. We met up just as I finished the 30 minutes and made him join me for the strides. I felt great during the 30 minutes at the beginning and end and could run much faster than usual (the trail being incredibly flat helps, too). Overall, this run flew by and was so much fun.

Wednesday: I wasn't sure how I would feel running these miles the day after a faster-paced run, but everything felt good, and there was nothing exhilarating to report.

Thursday: My long run is usually planned for Saturday, but as I mentioned above, Stef's baby shower was on Saturday this weekend. Knowing there would be so much to prep for the morning of, I moved my run to Thursday so I could enjoy it. I decided to run on the roads around my house. Again, cooler temperatures and no humidity made these 10 miles feel easy. I always have 2 runs planned back to back for ultra training, but I don't usually do 3 days in a row. I couldn't help but smile at where I'm at with running and my body that I can run 3 days in a row. And 3 days totaling 21.50 miles at that. I dreamed of days like this back in 2019 when I was injured. They were so worth waiting for.

Sunday: I woke up feeling a bit unmotivated. Being unfamiliar with Stef's neighborhood, I didn't feel like figuring out where to run 6 miles or how to hit 6 miles. Fortunately for me, I have a good best friend, and she drove me around this morning, planning my route out for me and telling me exactly where to turn so I could easily hit my 6. The temperature was beautiful, in the high 60s, and it was a perfect, crisp, cool fall morning. I ran the route mapped out for me, admiring the gorgeous houses, and the 6 miles flew by. I got back to her home, quickly showered, and then we went out to breakfast. We hung out for a few hours before I drove home. I'm home now, finishing this recap, and ready to sleep!

For how busy the week was, it was uneventful in the grand scheme of things, but I'll take that.
